Beginning in 2003, the WVHEA Board set aside some of the money that would normally fund a homeschool conference to create the Regional Outreach And Development (ROAD) grant program. WVHEA members are invited to apply for funding for homeschool programs, events, activities.
Past grantees have:
- imported an Eastern Panhandle blacksmith known for his work with children.
- started a homeschool band
- brought in a puppet show for the entire community.
- organized an education fair and published a yearbook.
- helped homeschoolers participate in Lewisburg’s First Day celebration
- helped cover clerical expenses
- classes of all kinds—chemistry, art, drama, gym, writing
The WVHEA Board invites you to make something exciting happen for homeschooling families in your area.
