Practice Tests

Scoring High practice tests got more difficult for homeschoolers to purchase this year. To order them from McGraw-Hill’s Educational Division/SRA, you must provide some documentation that you are legally homeschooling such as a letter from your county approving your program or a membership confirmation from a homeschooling organization. Since many of us don’t have such proof, SRA might accept a copy of the newsletter mailing label showing “member through [date].” If McGraw-Hill accepts this documentation, it will set up a “teacher account” for you, and you will receive the 25% school discount on your purchases.

If you don’t want to go through SRA’s procedures, Scoring High can still be obtained through Rainbow Resources (www.rainbowresource.com, 1-888-841-3456) and possibly from other suppliers.

Curriculum Associates also has a test practice series called Test Ready for all grade levels in Reading, Language Arts, Math, Algebra, Science and Social Studies. They offer a free sampler pack to homeschoolers through www.cahomeschool.com, Curriculum Associates Inc., P.O. Box 2001, N. Billerica, MA 01892-9915, 1-800-225-0248.
