ROAD grant funds Latin Class in Eastern Panhandle

From Joan Brammeier’s blog: “I am so excited! I am teaching 2 Latin classes in our JCCH Co-op and needed some textbooks that were going to prove to be expensive for the class. WVHEA sponsors a ROAD Grant to help enhance educational opportunities in West Virginia. I applied for the grant to help defray costs for my class and it was approved! Our co-op is available to homeschoolers in our area and, other than supplies, no other charge is made. This is our first year to offer courses which will continue for the entire school year. The grant is such a blessing, for it will enable me to purchase books to have on hand and continue to offer Latin classes next year and into the future. Our classes started in September and will meet until May. For info about our groups’ activities and next year's co-op, please go to http://www.JCCHWV.org. Thank you, WVHEA!”

3rd Annual Eastern Panhandle Home School Conference in Shepherdstown, WV

July 17, 2010 9:00am - 6:00pm

The third annual Eastern Panhandle Home School Conference (EPHSC) is gearing up to provide some of the best vendors and support sessions in the area.  This unique conference is not like a mega-conference.  Have personal conversations with experienced speakers and exhibitors who can relate to your issue or concern.  You won't be overwhelmed, but you will experience a day of encouragement, learning, laughter, and resolve.  Catered lunch is included in the registration fee.

This year we are featuring a complete track on homeschooling special needs kids....These creative and experienced speakers will encourage you and direct you to resources that will best meet your child's needs.  In addition, we have a strong series of classes on homeschooling your high school student.  Find many resources and sessions to support strengthening your family.

We are featuring our second annual used book sale this year, too.  For more information on how you can turn your outgrown and used curriculum into cash visit our website at EPHSC.org.

The EPHSC is just a short, beautiful drive from your location.  Shepherdstown, West Virginia is located on the Maryland / West Virginia border and is just a few minutes drive from Loudoun County, Virginia; Washington County, Maryland; Frederick County, Virginia; Frederick County, Maryland; and of course Eastern Panhandle Counties of West Virginia.

For more information and to register NOW, visit our website at www.EPHSC.org
